High Grade 1794 Masonic Currency
The Sketchley masonic token was minted by Bro James Sketchley in 1794. While in circulation, this coin was worth one half penny. This particular specimen is in outstanding condition. Border text clearly reads: I. SCETCHLEY FECIT 1794 X MASONIC TOKEN. This is one of the nicest sketchley tokens we have. Notice the still intact detailing on the beaver, the dots of the tail and the ribs. Also unblemished is the detail on the globe and feathers of the bird. The second set of photos is the same coin but with auto-levels applied to the image. The second set is more true to how the coin appears in normal lighting. The first set is more how it would appear in bright daylight. The black background coin is provided for comparison.
WHO CAN BUY: It's ok to buy masonic items as gifts for people you know who may be freemasons. It's not ok to pass yourself off as a freemason if you are not a member. In fact, doing so is illegal in many areas.
